Reduced vibrations, extended service life.
Whether in tractors, construction machinery, buses, or trucks: modern engines with high torque and optimized fuel consumption place significantly greater demands on the drivetrains of your commercial vehicles than in the past. The Hydrodamp vibration damper series from Driventic therefore efficiently protects the drivetrain against overload—while sustainably extending the service life of individual components by substantially reducing vibrations.
Your advantages at a glance
The Hydrodamp is a highly elastic vibration damper featuring a spring-mass system combined with a separately arranged hydraulic damping system. Its low spring stiffness, in conjunction with favorable mass ratios, shifts critical resonances to areas below operating speeds. Independently of this, the hydraulic operating principle for vibration damping and isolation is tailored to the operating speed ranges.
Protection of the drivetrain against overload
Extending the lifespan of all components
Reduction of vibrations and noise
Increase in comfort
Improvement of economic efficiency
Experience and development competence
The Hydrodamp is the result of talent and experience that have been developed over decades together with knowledge gained in the area of hydrodynamics. Many years of international project partnerships with customers and universities in collaboration with the high skill level of our employees allow Driventic to set the standards in the development of innovative, goal-oriented products.
The operation principle of the Hydrodamp:
When passing through resonance (e.g. when starting up or shutting down the engine) and during load shocks in operation, dampers in drivetrains must provide high damping. In the operating range, however, this damping makes vibration isolation more difficult — as engine irregularities can lead to significant vibration and noise problems. The Hydrodamp resolves this dilemma.
No sticking phases followed by breaking free meaning no vibration stimulation as with conventional friction damping.
The damping effect can be matched to operating ranges by way of the torsion angle, gap geometries and the viscosity of the damping medium.
Damping is proportional to speed meaning that higher frequencies or amplitudes result in greater damping.
Damping is wear-free.
The Hydrodamp vibration damper series from Driventic
The vibration damper is available in three vehicle and application-specific series for engine torques of up to 3,700 Nm.
This vibration damper stands out with a key feature: each series can be customized in terms of damping and spring characteristics to precisely fit your individual requirements and areas of use. In this way, Driventic not only ensures noticeably greater comfort, but also significantly improves the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of your commercial vehicles.
The Hydrodamp ranges have been developed based on a modular principle. The connection to the customer’s own individual drivetrain is achieved by means of solution variants for primary and secondary side, such as SAE centering flanges, hubs and cardan shaft connections. Within the series, by adjusting the characteristic curve and damping characteristics, the Hydrodamp can be precisely adapted to the drivetrain’s requirements.
