TurboCompound saves energy according to a simple yet effective principle:
Besides the turbocharger, the exhaust system is fitted with a second turbine
Residual exhaust heat drives the turbine, creating mechanical energy
A Driventic transmission with a hydrodynamic coupling efficiently feeds the mechanical energy back to the crankshaft
